M.I.H watch

http://www.mih-watch.ch/

I'm thinking about selling my mih watch. but can't figure out how much I should sell it for.
The watch is in mint condition with one tiny scratch on the band.
Can any watch experts in this forum help me pricing it?

Off the top of my head I'd say around $3,200-$3,500.

A very cool watch for sure! I think they only make 200 a year?

Yep. they produce 200 a year and you will have to wait for long time to get it. I waited almost a year to get it..
Thanks~

I think I am getting scammed!

I purchased this watch from this seller.
I paid via USPS Money Orders and sent via overnight mail on 9-17.
They promised I would have the watch by that Sat, then they told me
ohhhh my bank is holding the MO's and I have to wait till they clear and
then the seller is out of touch for days and then says soooo sorry had to
go Asia on emergency business. Last Fri the 25th (I think it was) they said ohhh flying home monday and will send you watch, then Tue I get an Email can't get out till thur but will send the watch and you will have by Sat the 3rd and now I am unable to get ahold of the seller yet again.

They also sell on Ebay as jkwinner12 and have auctions that are ending today but nothing new has been listed recently...

I am VERY frustrated, I understand things come up but this just does not feel right at this point...

What to do????

The seller is from Port Jefferson Station NY

Have you telephoned the seller?
I hope you didn't buy from the seller on the basis of 3 posts on this forum? If so you should have exercised extreme caution.
I'd start thinking seriously about stopping payment however you can, and notifying the authorities straight away.

I paid via USPS MO's which I think are pretty safe in protecting me from fraud. I bought based on the face the seller is a well known long time Ebayer with TONS of positive feedback.

I do not have his Phone # :( Nor do I have his EMail address (mistake by me I know!)

Due to the fact he has not listed new items on Ebay recently and his auctions are all ending I hope he is indeed out of the country but regardless I am very upset at the lack of communication on his end.

I can't file a claim with USPS for a few days still (I think its 30 days) but I will be doing that it seems. Sad part of it is that I do not want my money I want the watch.

Now the seller finally contacts me and says due to problems he has lost the watch and is sending me my money back....

Great, how high do you think this check of his is going to bounce?

Fine, he wants to play that game it will just add to the Federal charges that I will be pressing against him when the check bounces! I am going to stop before I say anything that would be improper in the boards but I am sure all of you can imagine the thoughts and words going through my head right now!

Man I'm sorry to hear about this. This guy seems like a real douche.

It is just a lie that he 'lost the watch'.
He's getting banned now

It's important to remember that ebay accounts get hijacked. Don't rely on ebay feedback unless you can confirm it to be 100% the actual seller.

I will keep the board posted on the status of this check that is supposed to be coming my way. I am glad to see the board is on top of this and looking out for the members.

Complaint # 1 filed with http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

This is The Internet Crime Complaint Center which is a partnership between the FBI, National White Collare Crime center and Bureau of Justice Assistance.

Anyone from anywhere in the world who was victimized by a crime in the US can file a complaint there so even if you live in another country but sent payment to someone in the US you can file a complaint.

You've filed a complaint? At the Internet Crime Complaint Center? Dude maybe wait and see if he posts the cheque first? He might just be a genuine douche bag, but that doesn't make him a criminal - yet??

Sttevo, didn't you read the guy above me? The creep sold him the same watch and is giving him the same BS. How can he be genuine when he sold the same watch to two people? This person is a felon and tried to mess with the wrong buyer, I will devote every free second to getting my money back and if it is not directly from him right away I will do everything possible to make sure he gets prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law! Fortunately from previous work I have contacts who can help push this to the proper desk and not let it go by the wayside.

Yep good luck recovering your money. I didn't realise yenfoolun had paid for the same watch. Obviously a scammer then.

seller replied. apologized for delay and said he was busy with school and works

seller sent another email after visiting shipping company. he said the shipping and insurance cost too high...

fedex do not cover over 1k... ups too expensive and he prefer to refund full immediately...

3rd email i just receive while typing this

"I was trying to sell 2 of my MIH watch that was given by my grandfather.
one was my brother's and one is mine.
The one I sold you was my bro's. and the one I was going to sell Watchsnob was mine.
However, the one I was going to ship to Watchsnob is seriously damaged while I was bringing it to the nearest post office on foot.
The one I was going to ship to you is staying here since Fedex does not insure anything more than 1K USD.
so I granted you the full refund via Paypal. and also sent Watchsnob a full refund+10USD since I was away for more than a week and delayed to ship it.
You've got your money back instantly. Watchsnob will recieve it probably today since I had to write him a check for his check.
I feel bad that I could not arrange everything clearly with fedex and notify you before I recieved your payment. "

and i just received paypal refund

so i think he just messed up everything!

Sounds like this guy got scared to me!

Why wouldn't he have sent Snob the one he intended to
send you and at least made good on one deal? He is in the
US and so is Snob so shipping/insurance can't be the reason.

Sounds like a scammer got caught with his pants down. I bet he
was in the board and saw Snob made a complaint with the feds.

Perhaps he just sold to another bidder like I posted in the other thread
he has been banned from other forums for doing.

Glad it worked out for you and lets hope it turns out the same for Snob.
I think he is safe as he used USPS Money Orders but that takes time to
recover a refund would be quicker and easier.

he emailed me again

"Watchsnob might be extremely angry I know....he has been waited queit a long time for the watch and he can't recieve it...
However, I wish he feels ok after he gets his money back. By any chance, if you get a chance to talk to Watchsnob, could you please explain what I told you?
The guy would not believe what I say since I delay almost 10 days or more because of my emergency business matter and my wife having a baby and all...."

whatever it is, i wish no 1 lost anything in this case!

now waiting paypal to process the refund for me as well....

will use my money to get a seiko MM my fren shown me just now...
need to forget the unhappy and move on....

lol...What a croc of SH.**

His story is an obvious lie.

He ruined his reputation and had to go through all kinds of loops to lie and make up stories to 2 other buyers...And for what? did he make an extra couple hundred dollars?

What a waste..

If this is a US Postal money order you need to go to the local Postal Inspectors Office and file a fraud report. Trust me, they take mail fraud very seriously. Have all his info to include email address, and the address where the check was mailed, and he can be located if he is in the USA.

watchsnob heard different story from the seller....
seller said he bought it from mih in the begining....
now he said he inherited from gandfather... and got 2...

so probably he realize watchsnob is taking action against him and he cant get the money.... and myside also paypal is investigating....

so he made U turn.... good lesson! for him and for us...
hopefully he learn from that and be good in future!
