Should I get my Daytona Serviced again?

I have a 2002 Gold 116528 Daytona. I had it serviced by Rik in Florida around 2009.

I have not worn it much since then. I put it on once a month or so.

It works perfect. But I fell and scratched the clasp a bit(needs a polish) and I would like to wash it under running water but worry about whether the seals are ok.

Would you get it serviced?

I could hold off on the Polish but am worried about the seals.

No, but I would refrain from swimming before a pressure test was done.
(Any watchmaker can do that)

Never mind the scratch, remove this one and get a fresh one tomorrow

As long as it's keeping time would not service yet,as for washing just give it a clean over with a damp cloth.You could do a dry pressure check most high street watch shops could check to 100m plus, if passes then ok to be submerged in water but not too deep.

No, they don't.

A test with the movement removed, then put back in without a test of the fully assembled watch would not be much good.

After a full service some watchmakers will test twice. Once to ensure case integrity without movement, but then again when fully assembled.

If a watch passes a 100 metre plus pressure test then it has passed at 100 metres depth, not that anyone could/would dive to that depth.

Then to say it is "ok to be submerged in water but not too deep".

How deep is "not too deep"?

No service. Just request for a small touch up refinish on the clasp only from an independent watchmaker. Small touch up jobs are about 90-110 dollars and is quick.

If its a deep scratch..have the clasp laser welded. This is a more expensive job...probably at about 500 dollars since its gold? Ask for a quote from an independent watchmaker who does laser welding.
