Dials

What is the downside of an aftermarket dial?

I love the look of this dial and am thinking of putting it in one of my older Datejust watches. They say its a factory dial that has been refinished... who knows.

Any thoughts, pros & cons?

If you can do this yourself no downside or upside.Just the cost of the dial and matching handset. If you are going to pay someone its really not worth it IMHO.If you are patient and look you will find an original dial for similar money.

Agree... no ups or downs... It's your watch..

No Rolex Contracted or owned Service Center will work on it though....... but there are plenty of other watchmakers who will...

Might want to keep the old one in case you ever decide to sell......

Thanks for the feedback. Would an AD install an official Roman Numeral dial even though it wasn't made for that model? How much more should I expect to pay for a similar dial from Rolex?

Thanks!

Is your watch a QS or non QS ?I would not go to an ad they will want to service the watch etc.You can find an original Roman dial fairly easy I suggest you buy the parts than find a good local watchmaker that works on Rolex bring him the dial and hand set if he knows what hes doing its a 1/2 job max
