CPO trade-ins?
I saw the CPO rant yesterday.
Curious if anyone has traded in their Rolex to an AD (recently) and what was the trade-in value you received for a new Rolex. Is it similar value to trading to secondary dealer? I looked into trading a common Sub at secondary and the offer wasn’t that appealing. As expected, of course. Thanks |

Is your Sub older than 3 years?

You will not get any more or less at an AD than you did before, it is all based on the condition and value minus refurbishment/net that a Dealer can expect to get at the end.

Just before CPO was initiated here and while my AD's initial batch of CPO watches were still at Rolex I traded in a less-than three year old mint Polar 216570 on a new black 226570. I had purchased that Polar from the same AD previously. They gave me virtually what I paid for it less three-hundred bucks.

You’ll probably get a low quote, with 90% of the value in cash and 100% for store credit.

In March I looked at trading my Pepsi 126710 for a full gold Rootbeer. My AD does not do CPO so I had to go to another AD. They offered me $14k for the Pepsi and offered a CPO Rootbeer for $48K. I told them it would make more sense to keep the Pepsi and buy the Rootbeer from my AD. They were making it seem like a full gold Rootbeer is hard to come by. Told them if I can get a Pepsi from an AD, Rootbeer is no problem. Salesperson looked like they ate a fly.

Buy low and sell high is how the watch game works and the CPO program is no different. The CPO program has been good for some laughs as it has evolved and the persons that sell to AD's with CPO programs are typically the same individuals that would buy from them. Just the Rolex version of the Grey Market at jacked up prices. Not a fan.
