Birth Year Watch Suggestion - 1993

First of all, I am glad to be a part of this forum.

I am looking to purchase a birth year Rolex for myself - I was born in 1993. I have envisioned my Rolex collection to contain a sport watch (Submariner), a more formal watch (two tone Datejust) and one of the less flashy watches such as Oyster Perpetual or Explorer I. I would be glad if you could provide me with suggestions which one of them would be best as a vintage birth year watch versus a modern interation of it. Currently, I am more inclined to a two tone Datejust - namely because I feel like there is less diference between the 1993 watch and the modern counterpart than it is for the Sub.

P.S. I do not currently own any of the said watches but am on a waiting list.

I wouldn't buy any of the modern versions TBH. But at least you can get a decent modern Explorer and DJ. The modern Sub is just hideous.

So if it's just going to be one, I would go with the 1993 Sub.

I love those mid-nineties two tone DJ's - typically you can find in very good condition for a good price. Solid watch, workhorse movement.

I have a 16233 from the early 90’s that I inherited from my Dad. Love it AND it is my most accurate watch. Can’t beat a 2 tone DJ.
