Help - 1969 Air King 5501 Purchase
Hi All,
I’m in the process of purchasing this 1969 (birth year) AK on C24. I am curious about the “custom Tiffany dial”. Any insight on this? Was this an original Rolex dial from that time? I’ve not seen another like it. Thanks !! Last edited by Tandmkennedy; 16 May 2024 at 03:25 PM.. Reason: Typo |

"Custom" generally means aftermarket or just repainted. It's a pretty honest description.

That dial never came from Rolex that way. As stated above, it is either aftermarket or repainted in that color. IMO it does not add any collector value to the watch. It would actually decrease collector value. It looks nice as a wearer. If you like it, then buy it.
