Looking for general information on my watch

Hello, Don from Montreal here, I recently purchased this watch from the grandson of the man it was presented to in 1968,
From my limited research I think it is a Cellini 8443
Now from what I have found Rolex introduced the Cellini model in 1968, but the serial number on the inside of my watch dates it to the mid 50's, so I'm confused, this is the one and only Rolex I own and I'd love the learn all I can about it

There is no database for Cellini watches.

The common charts are compiled from Rolex bubbleback/oyster cases that share production continuity/commonality.

This is what is known as a presentation watch and it isn't part of either the Oyster or Cellini range, even though it has a movement used in several Oyster models.

A lot of them don't seem to have a model number but some vendors call them model 7002.

Search for "Rolex Presentation Watch" or "Rolex 7002" and you'll find a lot for sale, usually gold filled or gold plated, with a variety of dial and hand variations, but nearly all with the distinctive cutout on the case for the winding crown.

It does look like that for sure, but mine doesn't say gold filled or plated, I do believe it's 14K gold

The case back is stamped as if it is solid gold and it looks as if that is correct, but the case itself looks like it is gold plated.

It would be worth having a jeweler determine which is solid gold and which is gold plated, because it is very unusual to have a combination of solid gold and gold plated case parts in one watch, and it would also be unusual to have a solid gold case that has no markings relating to the gold content.
