1976 Tudor 9411/0 Submariner - New Plexi and Retaining Ring Day
Today was the day I took my tools to one of my 9411s, which had a heavily scratched plexi (beyond Polywatch's capabilities) and a bezel that could be removed easily with thumb force, which meant a new retaining ring.
What I found when I removed the old plexi was that the dial actually presents in better condition than how I remember it and as can be seen in the first pic (under the old plexi), albeit it hasn't healed itself of course. Anyway, please excuse the 'spare' bezel and service insert, as the new retaining ring is tight to the 'nicer' bezel I have, which needs a bit of fettling. Anyway, I am quite pleased with my handy work. Watch when I bought it: Old plexi removed: Back in one piece: Edited to add: pics are better than my eyes, I might give the plexi a degree of anti clockwise to ensure it's lined up with the date wheel window better!

Thanks buddy - very happy with it! Needs a service and it should be good for many decades to come!
The dirt under the old retaining ring was unbelievable! How does it even get there!? There is nothing like a fresh plexi... may well have to do the blue one now!

Very nice, like those both...in fact, my fave snowflakes are ones that look a bit like a ravaged Roman fresco in appearance. Especially if the hour markers have 3D bled-black shadowing on the perimeter.

Thanks guys! Some of you will remember I have another, blue one with similar rash!
That dial needs a relume though as the plots are quite literally mouldy by the looks of them. Really pleased this one turned out so well albeit I want that overpolished bezel off and back in the spares drawer!
