Heads up kg19989 **hacked**
Attention members, this morning a forum friend reached out to me via text regarding a fraudulent email he received from someone pretending to be me. I’m very thankful for the support of the group here because it’s people like Steve who keep this place going. I’ve changed my password but I’m not sure what, if any, other damage has been done. I will be changing my name. I’m going wait for some guidance from the moderators but just wanted to give you a heads heads up: if you get anything from this account or any emails from “me”, it is NOT me. I have not sent a private message to anyone in weeks And I do not solicit people here. Furthermore, I only have a single Tudor GMT listed at the moment and going forward there will be no more posts under this handle. Thanks, everyone and I hope everybody’s having a great Father’s Day.

Hello forum members… I thought I was hacked, however I didn’t see any thing that anybody did other than perhaps use information that they were able to obtain from forum posts. I changed my password and took Steve’s (lol-x) guidance and we’re pressing on. Again, it appears that it was not a hack but somebody being fortuitous with information they can get from any posts. I appreciate East Bay Steve for reaching out to me directly when he got an email that looked suspicious and this is a great reminder for us all to be diligent.
The events that took place, in a nutshell: East Bay Steve got an email from somebody who used my name but some weird email domain asking him about a watch that he bought from me prior. Then he offered up a couple of watches for sale. At that point, East Bay Steve reached out to me and we immediately determined it was not me and then we made some posts that I was potentially hacked. I went my account and changed my password. It did not appear that anyone had made any posts or done anything in my account so I reached out to Steve (lol-x) and we determined I should just press on. So here we are. Keith Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
