I think I might prefer my Tudor GMT over my Rolex.
There, I said it.
Since getting my '58 GMT it's grown on me more and more. What I originally thought would be an ideal travel / holiday watch has so far been more of an enjoyable wear than my BLNR. Perhaps it's a honeymoon period but I'm really enamoured with the Tudor. A huge deal for me is being able to travel with it without the worry associated with the BLNR. The Rolex is undeniably superb. Yet looking at these two back to back, I'm personally drawn to the more tool like aesthetic of the '58, the BLNR feels so flashy in comparison, with the ceramic and jubilee etc. The clincher for me was the font of the bezel numerals between the two. The Rolex numerals feel so bold and heavy after looking at the fine font of the '58's. Happy Friday folks, apologies for more GMT musings & wishing you all a pleasant weekend |

Don't get me wrong, I really, really love this thing but I just see it getting less wrist time at the moment :)

As soon as they introduce the jubilee on BB58, I’m in.
Hopefully next year. |

I do find a lot of the Tudors (including the GMT) to be aesthetically pleasing. I also like the non-ceramic bezel.

Both beautiful watches, and I agree with you that the tool watch aspect of Tudor watches is very appealing. I like a watch that I feel comfortable wearing no mater what activity I’m involved in.

I fully agree. Tudor has a "tool" look, minimal bling and is really comfortable.

Me, too! Tudors kind of all look the same, to me. Maybe it’s the snowflake hand. That GMT looks just like my BB58, and every other diver or GMT, regardless of model. I do like it, though, just not as much as the BLNR. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Good mix of responses, thanks guys! I see the consensus is swinging mostly and unsurprisingly towards the BLNR. Maybe it needs a stay in the safe deposit box for a while to give me that wow factor when I see it again.

I have both and for the money the t u d o r is the way I would go but without considering the money the Rolex would be the one I would prefer by far the ceramic bezel is one of the selling points versus the aluminum bezel I like the t u d o r, like I said I have both and I think each one will get worn based upon where I'm going and what I'm going to be doing. https://www.watchpalace.com.sg/featu...er-with-tudor/

Think I've had nearly every model in the tudor line up...... Some twice. They never last.

OK, so let me be the one to say that I prefer the Tudor for it's almost vintage aesthetic. The gilt on the minute markers that match the bezel harken back to the 60's for me and the early days of my watch collecting journey. The BLNR is big, bold and in your face, but for me I will take the understated glow of the BB58.

Never was a BLNR fan, but i enjoy my 58 GMT. The rivet bracelet I’m not in love with but i am swapping it to the rubber strap.
Mine gets a fair amount of wrist time, it’s extremely comfortable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I prefer the look of the Tudor, too. About ten years ago I sold my Submariner 14060 and my Explorer 114270 and kept my Black Bay (ETA) and Heritage Ranger, and never looked back. Still wear both more than my other Rolex watches, and they're still running great.

To each his own. The only reason I will also pick the GMT over the BNLR is this ''A huge deal for me is being able to travel with it without the worry associated with the BLNR.

A few small changes and I would be wearing a Tudor. I recently bought a BB54 for my son and got to look it over for a few weeks before gifting it to him.
The tudors are missing the crown guards, and the GMT is too thick, if they got rid of the domed crystal and gold numbers I’d be in. I do like the price and the matte bezels, it makes them under the radar cool. I’m guessing they don’t want to step on the Rolex brand so they do it differently but those things I mentioned are why I’m in line like a bunch of others. I own a really nice planet ocean and the things I mentioned about the Tudor are on my Omega. It’s too thick being the one thing that bothers me the most. |

Tough call. Both pieces have their own appeal but the Rolex edges it out all the time

I felt the same with my ceramic Sub when I purchased the BB58 diver blue. I ended up selling both when I got a 2254.50 Seamaster.

Mmmmm, I don't know… Tudor 58 GMT is slimmed this year to 12.8 vs BLNR at 12 I agree with you on crown guards. For me, it’s oyster rivets. |

The Tudor really is a good looking watch. The domed crystal is awesome. I’m just not a fan of faux rivets or the 24 hr hand.

Your Tudor is a great looking watch. Have no hands on experience with any, maybe I will try it on next time I am at my AD. Love my BLNR but there are plenty of watches out there to share it with!

I've had my BB58 blue for 2 years and it still gets more wrist time than my Sub and ExII.
