Rose gold SkyD or Daytona

I’m looking to add either the rose gold SkyD on oyster with the blue green dial or the Daytona 126505 Rose gold with black dial.

If anyone has one and would like to share a photo, feel free.

What are something’s you like and or dislike about the watch?

Thanks in advance. Happy 4th of July!!

That would be the SkyD for me.
Dresses up or down.
Complications are very useful and the fluted bezel is a sight when it hits the light.
(Gimmick but the PM SkyD is the only Rolex where the crown always sits upright thanks to a mechanism in the winding crown. Just because Rolex they can)

How big is your wrist? Is it over 7.5”?

How big are you? Over 225 lb?

If either answer was no above, then Daytona. skyd is an amazing watch, but its big and thick

They are not remotely similar. I can't tell you which one you like more. Nobody can apart from you. If you love them both I would aim to own them both in the fullness of time.

The RG Sky Dweller is a stunner and not as heavy as I thought it would be. I've never liked the Daytona. Not that I'd buy the Sky Dweller, because I've tried one on at my AD and realised RG just doesn't look right on me for my build and skin tone. Personal taste is really all that matters.

If you have a big wrist, sky dweller.

I would absolutely love to wear a sky dweller in pm, but I can’t pull it off because of my puny wrists.

Daytona 126505 for me. Tried one on a few months ago and was blown away by it. Daytonas generally were not on my radar until that point. I'm glad I tried it on...

Have you tried them on? The Skydweller feels MUCH bigger than the Daytona.

Both are gorgeous so it's all personal preference. I am tending to now go for smaller watches whereas a few years ago I preferred watches on the larger side.

If you are able to try both on one will sing to you.

Good luck!

I’m 6’4, 225 pounds.

I currently have a SS blue SkyD on oyster and RG Dd 40 olive green.

They fit me perfectly and I’m leaning towards the Daytona next, but I love the rose gold blue green combo too.

Try the new Daytona. It’s a little bigger than the outgoing one.

I’m also 6’4 and 225. I’ve owned Daytonas over the years. Absolutely love them but end up not wearing them and selling because IMO, and only IMO, they are just too small for me. They are a very small 40mm, I’ve read that in reality they’re closer to a 38mm, and they just don’t look right on me.

Definitely sounds like SkyD is the way to go for you. I agree with others, have you tried a Daytona on yet? It likely will look smaller than your liking.

I’d say my Daytona wears smaller than my GMT BLNR, or even my Patek 6119R. It feels slightly bigger than my BB58. Perfect for me, 7.25” wrist.

You better try them on. I think you’ll own right away which one you want. I have both and wear the sky dweller much more. Love it

Picked up this RG beauty from my AD in February. Granted, not the black dial but I just love it. OF band is great and the watch just puts a smile on my face each and every time I put it on. Love the weight of the PM as well. Hard to go back to SS after having a PM watch.

The Sky-Dweller for me.....

The rose gold on its own doesn't work well with my skin tone and I prefer the YG PM models or TT's.

That being said, I think that of all the Sky-Dwellers and overall models this Rose Gold / Blue Green Dial is the best combo ever.

I am 6'1 / 245 lbs. with 7.5" wrist and this new Sky-Dweller I wanted and was lucky to get last week is amazing. A real heavy weight. IMO, it is the best tough tool classy somewhat flashy dress watch they make.

I also have 2 Daytona's - both TT and they wear slightly smaller on me but I love them and rotate them in as well. You can't lose. Go for the one you want or if you love both pick up the first one offered to you.

Rose gold SkyD or Daytona

I have a 116508 and 336938, both on Oyster bracelets.
I really like both of them, but if I could have only one, I’d pick the Daytona.

Really depends on your wrist. If you have larger wrists skyD would work otherwise Daytona all day. Even if you have larger wrists, try them on see what you like. I can’t pull off a skyD but love my Daytonas.

I originally wanted a RG sky in the new blue/green. Switched the request to a SS sky green in jubilee. It’s just too thick of a watch for PM.

Get the Daytona! It’s a a cooler looking watch, and looks awesome in PM! It looks much better than the Skydweller, which presents as cumbersome, IMO.

Do you travel a lot for business?
If so I guess the SkyD
If not Daytona.
Not a huge fan of either myself.
