Collection adjustments… Opinions needed
Hey all,
So following my other thread, I have been thinking about some possible adjustments and I am thinking about selling my 124270 & 14060m and adding a 16014 unpolished example with tapestry dial. I will then have the following: - 226570 (EXPII) - 16710 (GMT) - 16660 (Sea Dweller) as a diver - 16014 (DJ 36mm) as a dress watch - 3590.50 Omega Speedmaster |

How often will you need a dress watch? For a long time I considered a "proper" dress watch.
I have an ongoing analysis and in 2022 there was only one instance where a dress watch was needed. None in 2023 and in 2024 only once (black tie which doesn't call for a watch anyway) So there is no way I'm parking my money or parting ways with something I enjoy over something that I'll wear once a year at most. I love divers and I can't get enough of them!

the explorer and sub both trump the DJ for me.
I'd keep them both. The DJ is nice but its quite plain Jane. |

I’m with him. I’d rather give this up, than the Sub and Explorer 1. I do think a nice Datejust would add some class to your collection. However, there are much nicer dials than the tapestry dial. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I agree. I wear my datejust with casual clothes. I did opt for a smooth bezel with jubilee bracelet which makes me feel like it can be worn down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I’d use the 124270 as a dress watch for the odd occasion I needed it and no way I’d part with the 14060M.
I realise you’ve not asked a question so this is a random thought, not an answer! |

Tapestry dials are amazing, especially with a fluted bezel. I have a 14060m that I wouldn't trade due to the sub history and no date simplicity.

I would also vote to keep the 14060M.
But as far as the 16014 - ABSOLUTELY 100% yes!!!! But I'd personally be after a linen dial. The Tapestry dials don't do it for me like the linen dials do! Good luck :D
