Worst interaction with a famous person?

Opposite to the current, interesting thread on most-friendly famous people you’ve met: who is a famous person you met who wasn’t nice? (Maybe they were just having a bad day.)

For me, it was tennis player John Newcombe. I was a star-struck teenaged dork at the Australian Open and he was on his way somewhere, but agreed to a photo. I thanked him and he shook his head and said with heavy sarcasm, “You bet.” Innocent words, but his crankiness stunned me. The photo didn’t turn out, but my friend who took it laughed and said he wasn’t smiling.

I’m sure there are much better stories out there from you. What’ve you got? Get it off your chest!

I don't believe I have met a "famous" person much less have an interaction with one.

Well of all the nerve.

She could at least have the decency to wave at you from her bedroom window.

Herb Jefferson from Battlestar Gallactica still owes me $20.

I probably should have added a vig. It's from 1988.

Susan Sarandon - what a nasty witch. Let's just say she wasn't happy with my comments when we parted ways.

Thanks for starting this thread my man!!

It appears people have far more happy and memorable encounters with celebrities than not!! I may have been off base with my thinking them being generally nice was uncommon.

As for me I haven’t met many randomly (all have been cordial at the least though).

I don’t know if it’s fair to include those where either party was paid for their participation in the interaction.

I believe the idea of this thread is to tell the backstory!

You asked, so I shall tell.

A few days after 9/11 attack at the WTC she and Tim Robbins show up. Now she starts demanding that she be allowed into the frozen area to survey the destruction. I, being in uniform tell her that civilians are not allowed in as it remains a giant crime scene and it is still a rescue/recovery effort.
Susan begins to get indignant with me, raising her voice and demanding to speak to "someone more important". My reply was no, and that you are a stupid (insert the "F" word and the most vulgar word you can think of for part of a women's anatomy) and to take a hike.

She was speechless, but she did walk away.

Nasty entitled wench.

Pierce Brosnan - during his James Bond 007 period.

I was at LAX picking up an overseas relative who spotted him and who doesn't speak English so she asked if I would ask him for his autograph. I casually walked up to him and asked if would mind giving an autograph for the cousin to which he said just a minute and got on a pay phone (as I said, this was a long time ago).

I waited for about 5 minutes, standing several feet away until he got off the phone. I started to ask again, and he made another phone call, so the I patiently waited again.

Same scenario played itself out 3-4 times and I stood waiting as he got off the phone for the 4th time, I asked again and he said, "you're not a very patient man, are you?" I told him, I could care less about his autograph and that it was for someone else who didn't speak English and asked me to ask.

Some interesting stories, guys. Thanks for sharing. The Sarandons and Brosnans of the world must be exposed in watch forums, and our work here helps!

To balance that off: Great pair of norks in her day

I've met a few celebs here and there but treated them either with meh or hi ok and moved on.
I get I'm not their best friend or that they are thrilled to meet me so like most people just want to get on with their day

Having said that, whilst at the F1 British GP few years ago I met mika Hakannen(sp) in a helicopter situation

I was working as ground crew (assisting a friend who owned the helicopter rights for the event so it was help me out for a free entry ticket) and he wasn't overly nice and a bit I'm Mr important. Although on the other side his girlfriend was extremely nice.

Got another old story. I put myself through college by working part time at a hotel. The Super Bowl was in town and the Denver Broncos were staying at our particular hotel and celebrities were all over the property, Lynn Swann, Ronnie Lott, Marcus Allen and other Hall of Famers . I'm not one for autographs, but Elway was someone that really stood out to me on the field and the only one I asked for an autograph during the entire event.

One evening he comes out to the front of the hotel with his linemen and they're waiting for their car to pull out as they were going to go out. As an aside, it's actually amazing to see how big John Elway was as compared to his linemen, he might have been 90% of their size and just as tall. As they're waiting, I build up the nerve to ask for his autograph and he stone cold declines. No problem, I then walk back towards the front of the hotel.

Literally minutes later, his car pulls up with him in the passenger seat and asks me for directions to the night club area where they're going to go party. Still a little stung, I give them directions to one of the more run down areas near skid row and wish them a good time.

Slash from Guns n Roses. Spend whole night drinking with him when they were the most popular band in the world. I am positive the only thing in his skull is a single wire which connects his ears thus preventing them from falling off.

Met many other celebrities, I am in that kind of work. Majority of them are like any other people, especially away from camera. Some are bad company, some are good, and with musicians and athletes there is always a possibility they can't do much beside what they are famous for, but Slash is special. Literally.

Speaking of Bad Company, Boz Burrell was one of the more friendly and decent blokes I met when I was moving in musical circles in the 1980s. Two other similarly genuine guys were Richie Hayward and Nick Lowe. Dave Gilmour was also pretty down to earth and always said hello. The only standoffish guys were Phil May and Bob Weston. Many others in between, but those were the standouts.

Was on a flight to Tokyo and a bunch of rock and rollers were in first class getting loud and smashed. One lady had enough of it and dumped a glass of water on one of them and he completely freaked out. He started screaming about “unleashing the fury” and a bunch of other crazy shit. Forgot the guy’s name, but he was a complete tool.

I love Nick Lowe, so it’s nice to hear he really is one of the good guys. Apart from being a great human and musician/producer, he’s a big fan of Rolex, and many other watches, particularly vintage Omega, per this Hodinkee interview with him: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/th...vintage-omegas

Similar story here. Also speaking for a friend. We’re huge Eagle fans and my friend met Donovan McNabb at some event. I dont recall if it was a corporate event or something like that. Anyway, he said Donovan McNabb was the biggest, rudest, most unprofessional person he ever met. The guy didn’t know how to act around people.

We were introduced by a mutual friend at a Paul Carrack gig at The Mean Fiddler in London in the mid-80s, and even though I was a nobody, he seemed really pleased to meet a 'friend of a friend' and though it was so long ago, I still remember how genuinely friendly he was.

In 1997 I was sitting with friends at an outside cafe on west Broadway in soho.
It was the weekend and the day as lazy and dedicated to people watching.

We were there for hours.

Somewhere about hour 7 I got up to use the restroom.

When I returned my friend said:

“Remember that time you got up to use the restroom and you missed Halle Berry?

I guess she didn’t t treat me that bad but I sure wasn't happy :)

I was sitting on a sofa in a Las Vegas club around 1999 when some big guys come up to us and said “Move”. I politely said that I would just as soon as I finished my way overpriced drink.

A few seconds later Dennis Rodman sits down next to me and the phalanx of bodyguards literally start pushing everyone else away that even tries to come close. The whole group was rude as hell to everyone. My opinion of him was already low enough but I was even more disgusted.
