Trade submariner for speedmaster 321

Hi everyone.

Just wanting your opinions on a potential trade. I'm thinking of trading my submariner 126610ln plus £5.5k for the speedmaster 321.

Feedback appreciated.

Why?
Just buy to add. Part of Sea-land. Need air

Which 321 are you talking about There's a Speedmaster caliber 321 39.7 mm Steel on Steel there's a Speedmaster caliber 321 42 mm platinum on leather there's a Speedmaster caliber 321 38.6 mm cannabis gold on cannabis gold It appears your talking about the "Sapphire sandwich", Caliber 321, as I understand it this is not a Master Chronograph. Which is the best Omega makes, in either case I wouldn't trade a Rolex for it. The Sub is one of the most iconic watches in Rolex series of watches. And you might possibly be able to pick up the 321 at a discount, bide your time and shop around for a new 321 from gray Market. imho

To me that’s a weird trade because they are completely different watches.

That said, if you like the Omega better and can’t see yourself regretting letting go of the Sub then… that’s your call to make!

I'd do it. 321 is amazing in the metal. Sub is nothing special, albeit a workhorse.

I wouldn’t do it unless I had another Sub.

You'll regret this in a month.

Omega doesnt hold value (unless its a SE) and ya can literally pick up any speedy pre-owned for under retail ..anyday of the week.

And it's a apple-cranberry comparison. Speedys are barely WR ..only a single gasket on the crown to give it that 30m WR. No gaskets on the chrono pushers. No date either.

Sub is a one watch to rule them all and the reason why even non WIS folks get a sub (or a datejust) as their ONLY watch for years.

I'd just save up and add a speedy. I was in Vegas this past weekend and Omega boutique had the new white dial speedy in stock and they were ready to waive the local tax on top. I've owned several Omegas in the past and never paid retail for any of them and nor will I sell my sub to get a Omega...it's a downgrade IMO.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. I have a 116500ln black daytona, the latest snoopy, the speedmaster apollo 11 50th anniversary, the submariner I'm thinking of trading, a DJ 41 wimbeldon and a tag carrera. The reason I'm looking to offload the submariner is because it gets the least amount of wrist time. The last time I wore it was probably a year ago. I've always liked the 321 especially the case back, such a stunning movement.

They are such different watches OP. I think you would be wise to add the 321 to the Submariner date

I’d do it in a heartbeat, no comparison by any means!
321 is sooooo much better than Sub!

Is this the Ed White 321? If so, yes. That is a much more special watch than a sub. And I’ve got a sub. You’re on the wrong forum to be asking this question.

Also, you’re not getting a discount on that watch, regardless of what people here say.

Any trade question that includes the words “I haven’t worn it in a year” , the answer is yes.

I’m a fan of the new EW 321, I recently picked up a 23 model from a grey dealer on TRF & absolutely love it. In your case I think you’re laying out a bit too much $. I would say closer to $5-5500 usd tops.

I would keep the Daytona + Snoopy + Add the 321 Speedy. Sell the rest and keep the cash or put it towards a 4th piece!

If you’re not wearing it trade it. The 321 has always struck me as an awesome watch, the Sub can be replaced in minutes by every single TS on this site and most ADs in relatively short order. Do it.

Both icons. Keep both. But if not wearing a watch, little reason to keep it.

Take them both into some long dives in depth -salt water. You will "speedily"
change your mind. Time it back to your watch shop....

Why would you do that? You can just buy a cheap diver to take diving. You don’t need a luxury watch to do that. It involves taking off a watch and putting on a new one.

No, it most certainly is not a downgrade. OP, Just buy the Speedy, Add, do not trade. You might regret getting rid of the Sub. How many Speedies do you need? Maybe trade one of the others, instead, though I get the love. Good luck, whatever you decide.

LOL. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at this at the Rolex Forum. I have 3 Rolex and love them, but sometimes people here have blinders.

That watch is amazing

I personally would not do this. If I were OP I would sell one of the Speedys he already owns to help fund the 321. Just one man’s opinion.
