Please excuse my Ignorance

Obviously I am very much novice when it comes to Rolex for even asking such a question but is there such a thing as a Rolex Quartz?
What are the value comparisons when it comes these watches with the quartz movement?
Just curious, been looking over Ebay lately at all of the watches and obvious fakes and see quite a few watches listed as Rolex Quartz...
thanks,

Rolex made the OysterQuartz for a few decades (I think). They were discontinued about two years ago. OQs were Datejusts and DDs too (?) in SS, TT and YG.

Since they're discontinued, they have become somewhat collectable and are likely the best quartz watch ever made.

Hi Mike,

Rolex first introduced their Oysterquartz at the height of the Quartz Revolution in 1978. The watch caught on fast as it was one of the few quartz watches with a 11-jewelled quartz-linked motor.

Still regarded as one of the BEST quartz watches in the market, the OQ even now commands a fair price from those who love them.

Great looking watch, but they made it only in one diameter size, i.e. 36 mm...but it became very popular in its day and still is with quite a few Rolex lovers.

JJ

There are, but the OQ is the only oyster model available in quartz.

BTW, the old Rolex Tru-Beat was a mechanical ebauche that ticked like a quartz... very cool and HIGHLY collectable.
