What is Tudor?

I see this vintage watch that looks a lot like a day-date rolex, but in SS with a jubilee style band. It has Rollie parts on it. Does anyone have a link that I can read up on? And how could I obtain a real one?

Tudors are made by Rolex, well like a subsidiary kinda deal.... they are superb watches.. have eta movements in them and are still serviced by Rolex. The older Tudors look very very much like Rolex watches but at a much lower price. Great bang for buck

Rumour has it that Tudor is about to use in house movements too. Only problem is that in the US they are hard to come by.

I say go for it... I had a Tudor Mini-Sub and it was a great watch. Lots of the guys on here have Tudors too.. they'll all speak up soon I am sure and correct me of anything I have said thats a bit incorrect.

I see a website tudorwatch.com, but they don't have any pricing on the new ones. Does anyone know how much the day date model prince sells for?

I'm going by memory here and it's fading, but in Canadian $$ a SS DD Tudor is about $3K-3.5K.

Hi, I have some Tudors,
There are two versions. Flower & later Shield.
The very first came with a flower symbol, these had a Tudor/Rolex movt. in it, had the rolex crown, case too.
The second came with Shield symbol , but with ETA movt. & rolex case, crown.
The third (most recent) has the Tudor crown, case & ETA movt.
I have the first two, one is my grand fathers watch bought from a Portugese territory in the early 50s.
I have 2 flower symbols ones, & one "poormans daytona" with a suburb ETA 7750 valoux movt. very accurate & extremely dependable.
Now for your present Day-Date, its very good ETA movt. fraction of a rollie price, looks great too.It should have the rolex crown & rolex case. I had it 2 yrs. back for USD.670, box & papers, sold it & I regret doing so till date.

I checked the website out which made me fall in love with a watch near identical to my tt dj jubilee w/ white face an gold romans. It looked alot alike but with the DD feature I am obbessed with.

I forget what day it is alot, and the rolex datejust allows me to easily write checks and sign papers with ease. However I would love for my watch to remind me on wed. that it is the day to submit payroll; or on thurs that checks get handed out; or it is friday clean up shop before weekend etc. A visual que as to the day. If it wasn't for the 20k I would have taken the DD president watch.

Tudor's great value for the money. Here's my 79170 Chrono:

It's solidly constructed as an Oyster case ought to be, and the 7750 movement works beautifully as well. Unlike the Daytona it's not COSC rated, but it's as accurate as my DJ and SD, and it's got a date to boot.

In the early days, Rolex created a number of secdond-tier brands to capture a larger segment of the watch-buying market, and of all those brands, Tudor is the only survivor.
