Another Panda Thread

So...2023 116500 for 28k unworn with everything included?

or wait for 2024 126500 to drop? They are over 30 now

on the grey market of course.

Good luck to get one from an AD...I dont have the collection from an AD to get that call....

Why do people think the Panda is so over rated???

Why do you think a 2024 Panda value will drop on the grey market? The Daytona pricing has stayed pretty consistent lately.

So 116500 Panda vs 126500 white dial Daytona. Panda 116500 looks better in my opinion.

There’s a 2024 for sale here at a decent secondary price

I recently traded my two 116s into my AD so I can replace them with the new models. I just prefer the aesthetic and decided to get what appeals to me.
Make no mistake, those 116s wear like a dream though.
Go with what appeals to you (to be fair, I’m not in the grey market so that is a factor)

In the SS Daytona range you have two dial options white and black why the need to call them Panda defeats me.

Im not sure...it was just a question...

Maybe the 2024 will drop some like the 2023s are less expensive now.

If the 2024 didnt come out Im thinking the 2023 would be at a higher price point

If I’m spending over $25K on a Daytona, I’m going Zenith. The prices have come down quite a bit over the last year or so, and the longterm upside is so much better than a modern version.

There’s a reason Rolex went back to a similar 16520 dial design for the 126500. Much better look.

I just can’t imagine paying $28K for a watch I paid $12400 for. Had I not been able to buy at retail I simply wouldn’t have one. They are nice to have and look at but not at 2X+ retail.

I hear ya

I dont have any clout at an AD

So Ill never see a Daytona at retail

besides if I have to buy 3 Rolex watches to get this...isnt that kinda the same thing?

Plus Ill save the time and have it now

If you think $3K is a big difference, are you really a playa?

It’s a buy. Daytona pricing is stable.

If you try and time an exact bottom you will likely either never buy or miss and end up buying at 32…or higher.

Daytona prices have been stable for a long time. I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Hmmm... I have never seen a 116500 panda? A panda would have the rings filled in. It's one of the key things I don't like about the 116500 - I came to really dislike the open rings after I owned it. Always seemed like the watch had 3 holes in the dial, it was hard to unsee that once I had it set in my mind. I had one but sold it after 6 weeks. I just found it underwhelming. Too small, too hard to read the time... And the screw down pushers were really annoying. Compared to the wearing experience of my Speedmaster - it was not close. You are paying a huge amount for the Daytona hype. Such good (superior?) alternative watches from Omega, Zenith, JLC for under $10K on the grey market. Heck, get a Gen 2 VC Overseas - what a beautiful watch for $15K - and a superior one.

11 vs 12 is subjective, but it's been a while since the white dial 11 was sub $30k. Who knows where the 12 will land. Seems like a good opportunity to acquire the 11.

I do not think 126 price will drop, at least not soon. Anyway, buy the one which you like the most, that is the right decision, in addition that 2k is not a significant difference talking about that prices.

116500 has a character.. bezel ring and thinner subdials destroyed it's soul in my perspective. so i would stick with 116500.
