I got the call
Hi all,
I’m so excited to share that I got the call yesterday from my AD that the watch I want is arriving tomorrow for me. A Datejust 41, Wimbledon, with fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet. February was the time that I went in to register my interest. I’ve had a tough month or so health wise so I feel this is maybe a big bit of the smooth along with the recent rough. Now I just need to pay for it…..gulp. So as this is my first Rolex, can I expect any extras from the AD or is the fact fate shined on me is extra enough? What about movement on price, I take it that’s for non- Rolex watches and dealers? As always, your points and opinions are always welcome and appreciated. Thank you. 😀 |

Congrats in advance. As far as freebies, maybe ask for a pouch or a cloth. Doesn’t hurt. As far as discounts, I wouldn’t even bring it up. You’ll never get another watch from that dealer. I know it sounds stupid but that’s how it goes. Best of luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Congratulations!
I wouldn't even ask for freebie. Just be super excited and grateful, if you want them to sell you more that is. Sent from my SM-S918U1 using Tapatalk |

Congratulations on your first Rolex! That's a beautiful DJ you chose. I love the Wimbledon, and fluted bezel with Jubilee is the best for a DJ imo. As for a discount, I don't think you're gonna be able to get one. Especially on a higher desirable DJ configuration like yours. I'm honestly not even sure about asking. I probably wouldn't if it were me, but as they say......if you don't ask, you won't get? I would probably rather ask for the gift instead.
No matter what, you got the watch you want, and with that comes the Rolex AD experience! You are going to enjoy it! I have read on various threads before that everyone recommends having the Rolex AD experience at least once. I now say that to others who have never bought at an AD. Oh, and as I also learned in other threads before I had my first AD experience......make sure your watch set is complete if you care about that. It should come with the green hang tag, but also with the rectangular white tag with the watch's serial number on it. Of course an inner and outer box, but lots of people also ask for the outer cardboard sleeve with a white sticker on it telling which watch is inside. It should be okay if you don't, but it doesn't hurt to verify that the serial number on the warranty card matches the watch. I read one scenario where the owner took his watch and card in for service for the first time, and it was only at that point the service center informed him that the card was not for his watch. Somehow cards got mixed up at the AD! Maybe 2 watches were being sold and got prepped in the back and the SA grabbed the wrong card? It is VERY rare but can happen. Sorry to hear that things have been going a bit rough for you. I hope you're feeling better, and that this is a sign of things smoothing out from here! |

Congratulations! The Wimbledon Datejust 41 is a fantastic choice for your first Rolex, enjoy it, you’ve earned this after a tough month. As for extras, it’s worth asking, but getting the watch is already a great win!

Congrats, super combo, a gift from the AD maybe a chocolate and some water. Discount never especially on that piece. I would not ask for anything, the days of gifts or an extra link if needed are long gone. I would be very happy that you were allocated the DJ with a reasonable wait time.
Different ADs work in different ways, they may offer you something. Usually they give gifts with a large purchase DD or PM SkyD $50K and up… A Rolex polo shirt or hat , some ADs most don’t. Back in the day you could get a 15-20% discount on PM only, because they didn’t move as much. Some ADs would have a 5% on a sports model. I have not seen that in a long time. Cheers, |

I've received free stuff with Rolex purchases in the past, but I never asked for them. It's dealer to dealer and not a written rule.
You'll receive 0 discount, I'm afraid. Just enjoy the watch. |

Be happy to get it at MSRP. Interestingly, I get swag when I just stop in for a chat, and a glass of wine and chocolates when I pick up a watch. Won’t hurt to ask, though I never do. Congrats on the Wimbledon. I have the TT 36. Love it! Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Hearty congratulations! Really hope you enjoy today.
My own experience buying a DJ41 earlier this year (again, first and so far only purchase) was that you can expect a glass of fizzy water (or tea) and a very pleasant retail experience. You'll also walk out with a big smile and a bit of a swagger. |

Congrats! That’s a fantastic watch, wear it in good health!
Enjoy the AD experience and take it for what it is. I purchased my first from an AD a few months back, the experience was very pleasant, but didn’t live up to what I was expecting. None the less, it was a great day that I will always remember. I asked about a pen as I had talked many times about writing instruments with the SA along the way… only gift I got was a water an a new issue of the Rolex magazine Let’s see that watch on your wrist!!! |
