Just Got The Call

Well, I’ve been wanting a BLNR on jubilee for a bit now and have been in talks with my usual 2 ADs. One (the closer one geographically) told me not this year but 1st quarter of 25…

After texting my other AD (who has come through on 2 submariners to this point) about a set of earrings for my fiancé as a Christmas gift I didn’t mention the watch. She informed me yesterday that the earrings should be in next week or so and I figured, what the hell, I asked her this morning about the watch and basically if it would happen by year’s end.

She just called and said they had received a shipment so it’s mine. I will be grabbing his and her Christmas gifts within a week.

Further proof that timing and spend trumps any formal ‘waitlist’

I will add this: I initially inquired about a GMT (Pepsi or Batman) last year at this time at both ADs. So, I have been waiting a bit.

That's fantastic! Securing it just in time for the holidays makes it even more special. Congrats on both the watch and the perfect Christmas gifts.

Actually it’s really just got to do with spend.

Just Got The Call

For more clarity, the earrings I requested are a 2k item that I was going to purchase anyway. Something to match her engagement ring.

Mine is on Oyster, but welcome to the BLNR club. It truly is a fabulous reference. Post a pic when you have the opportunity!

Congrats to both of you!

Congrats on your new BLNR! I don't believe in waiting lists. I'm sure they have people that have been waiting longer, but they are selling it to you because they like you more.

Just Got The Call

No matter how you slice it, I have purchased 5 watches (sub date LN, sub date LV and a few Tudors) an engagement ring (nothing crazy, sapphire and diamond) and a set of pearl earrings this past February - so moderate spend. And still waited almost a year.

Same thing at the closer AD: Rolesor sub LN, Rolesor Datejust, James Cameron and a couple Tudors over the last year and a half. Actually have more spend at this closer-to-me AD. I was originally told by the end of this past summer, then by the end of the year, then 1st quarter 25’.

This being said (and these were all items I wanted anyway) it still seems as though it will take a little spend and an overall “regular” relationship with an AD to acquire any SS GMT at retail - and even then, have to still manage to deal with a decent AD.
