New and somewhat confused
Hi everybody,
The confused part stems from me also being a member of the German Rolex forum that has a completely different lay-out. I am a new member from The Netherlands, a Rolex fan ever since I saw the first gold Day Date back in 1967, worn by the owner of the cy. I started to work for. Got my first SS Oyster Perpetual in 1969, regrettably stolen from my home. Than twice a steel & gold Oyster Perpetual and than two gold day dates with president bracelet the first one costing $ 1388,- tax free (strong dollars) I sold it at a small profit thinking I could buy it again but than prices shot up with the Nixon policy of releasing the gold - dollar fixed price so the second one cost me $ 2500,- Later I sold that one too and bought a large size Audemars Piquet Royal Oak, way to expensive and to heavy for a small wrist (it still hurts) and a very poor finish compared to Rolexes at that time. That was the only watch I had to take a financial beating on upon selling it. After that side step from Rolex I bought a Midsize Datejust gold with presidents bracelet which I only recently sold because I did not want a gold Rolex watch any more as most Dutch that wear one these days are good for 10 to life so now I got a cool looking midsize Rolesium Yachtmaster.
