It will have the newer gloss dial with white gold surrounds on the hour markers.
I'd say $5,000-$6,000 might be the price.

you will always pay more for a 5513 in UK than USA, but factor in import taxes and handling charges at 20% plus. I would look for matte dial earlier than your are looking for, Better value for what you state would be a 14060 trit very undervalued in UK and USA at present.

Hi and Welcome to TRF....
I would go a little lower than Steve as its a later model, it has all the "bits" but I did'nt see mention of any papers. I believe the maxi matt dials are fetching a little more, so IMHO I would go with $4500-$5000. edit I did not factor this in |

By the way "L" serial is not 1986, but more like 1989-90.

Rolex Sub
Hi guys,
Interesting how you say L serial is later than '86 I was quoted offers around 4600 Euros which from what you are saying is far too much? I am just very worried about the provinence about vintages and this owner has owned it from new and is a news reporter no less! I am travelling to Singapore next month would prices be better there? If I had time I'd probably hit the US since tax and the $. |

Hello and welcome to TRF. From what I read, this 5513 does not have "papers" which refers to the original warranty paper that came with the watch from Rolex when it was new. It makes a major difference in price, vs Rolex service papers which anyone can obtain if Rolex services the watch. Service papers are not the same as "papers."
Once the original warranty paper is gone, it's gone for good. Many collectors love to have those original warranty papers, hence the premium prices for vintage watches with the warranty paper. In the USA, a 1989 5513, complete with accessories without the original warranty paper is a $3,000 watch.
