2001 DJ -- Thoughts?

Hi all. I am new here and have located the watch I want. Is $4,300 a realistic price for this watch? Any specific questions I should ask? Many thanks for your opinions.

Style: Traditional Style

Model: 16233; Quick-Set

MSRP: $10,400.00

Case Size: 36 mm

Dial: Blue Vignette Diamond Marker covered by a Perfect Sapphire Crystal

Bracelet: 18 kt Yellow Gold and Steel Jubilee

Yes, on the high end. DJ's typically do not hold their resale value as well as the SS Professional models. I would estimate $3100-$3300 if it's in good condition with B&P.

16233 all gold? Its a TT-DJ and from 2001 so the MSRP(even w/diamond dial) from back then was no way near $10K for it. The price they want now for it is way too high, I would pass on it.

I cannot comment on the price, but the model you are looking at will have the old Jubilee bracelet, not the super Jubilee as on newer models. Check out the references, you will see the new model. Solid links and less stretch. It's a much better bracelet, but then I am biased.

Great watch. This price is a bit high. If it has had a thorough Rolex service, recently, that would help explain the price. Otherwise, it's possible to do better.

That said-- if you buy what you want, in a few years, you'll not remember the price. Also, this watch could last you for 50 years. Spread the extra cost over that time, and it just doesn't matter.
