I under-estimated. There are at least a few that aren't shown here, including a Rolex that is in for service.

I think once a person owns more than 6 or 8 it is unlikely they are all worn with any frequency and you probably have redundancy in covering most any need or occasion.

But you asked about a collector. They can never have too many.

I am not a collector.

Depends on the individual. However I found I had other interests and it made it easier to pursue those as well by setting some limits.

I have found that 2 is the perfect number for me. Any more than that I have found I still gravitate towards my "favorite" two. Currently, I have a white gold DD40 and a JLC Dualmatic.

Excluding all those "fun" or "knick knack" watches like Swatch Sistem 51s/Timex Q as I call it, I'm perfectly fine with 3-4 in my rotation.

I don't tend to refer to my 3-4 watches as a collection either. If I'm going to collect watches, sky is the limit as I would probably want every reference in the best condition.

For me it's not the number that matters - the real question is does everything get proper wrist time? If yes then you are doing it right IMHO.

Two Rolex, and two Seikos. And the one that gets the most wrist time, and I love is a Casio G-Shock DW5600 BB. Simple, stealth look.
