A Rolex, or any COSC certified watch, is designed to operate accurately with minimal temperature induced fluctuation. During COSC tests, the movement is tested at 3 different temperatures: 8 Celsius/ 46 Fahrenheit, 23C/73F and 38C/100F degrees. In 1953 Edmund Hillary took a Rolex to the summit of Mt Everest where the temperature averages -20C / -4F in climbing season. If it can handle Everest it can handle your attic.

Yes, if you are a lover of worn out watch movements and useless clutter.

No issues with temp or humidity, but seems like it would be a pain to fetch your watch every time you want to wear it. What about simply getting insurance if you are worried about a robbery in your home? Do you live in an area where this type of thing is common?

Yes, I believe you can do much better. The trick is to get moisture and oxygen away from your watch. You may need to get something custom made to achieve both of these goals, but this https://www.superdry-totech.com/dry-...ts-sdb-series/ should take care of the moisture issue. It conforms with IPC/JEDEC J- STD 033C & IPC-1601.

Two problems you have. One if you have a safe at home if it does get BE breaking and entering the criminals sometimes gets so pissed off that they can't get anything will totally trash a house just for retribution. Not a nice site most would rather they take the watches that distroy the place ! Two your safe in a attic, if you have house fire it will fall and be in the basement when the fire is put out. Seen it both scenarios. Best to put a big a collection in a bank and if you have a safe put it in the basement elevated by 3 feet with brinks to keep in out of the flooded basement.
