Love the daytona oysterflex and have had it for the last 3 months. It’s super comfy and the precious metal on rubber is something that can be dressed up or down.

Not seen many in the wild so it’s good to have a watch you do not see often.

I have the WGYM with the OF. No matter how hard I try, I cannot fall in love with it. To me it feels like it cheapens the watch. I do like the watch and wear it, I just wish there was a choice. I’m thinking of having a custom strap made. Clearly I’m in the minority and I read this article a day ago: hey if he can win the Super Bowl I assume purchase any flavor watch he wants and chooses the WGYM with OF, Rolex must be doing something correct with it.

I was skeptical but honestly it’s my most comfortable watch. Not even close.

Not for me. I'd feel like i was being cheated, missing out on too much on my wrist. I just love the weight and feel of a real bracelet. I do like to switch to the straps on my VC Overseas, (not OF but top quality as well) but they usually don't stay on longer than a day, the bracelets too nice. If i was buying PM I'd want a full PM piece, not just the head.

I'm sorry. I doubt very much that I would accept a rubber band on a PM Daytona. I only wish that they would bring back the leather option then I would be a buyer. Does anybody know if it's an easy switch to swap out the rubber for their stock leather straps used a few years back?

Train Time

I’ve had custom leather straps made for various pieces. I mix and match.... some days I’m in the mood for a full bracelet, other days a top shelf custom leather straps feels right for the day. I’ve placed an order for my WGYM with the guy who makes them for me; one crocodile, one Teju lizard . Once I get them and install I will post some pictures. I have pictures of other Rolex watches with these type of custom straps I’d be happy to share if anyone wanted to see them.

I have nothing against rubber straps. I have several Rubber B's but the design of the OF does not appeal to me. I also prefer to keep the bracelet intact and thus like the tang buckles on the rubber straps.

I think the Rubber B or Everest straps are much better on Rolex. Plus you have the bracelet whenever you want. I would not go OF unless availability or cost are factors of concern. These are very real concerns and certainly justify an OF purchase.

If the price on the YM 42mm on Oysterflex was slightly lower I would buy one in a heartbeat, same deal if the price was slightly higher and on a bracelet.

Can oysterflex fit on a 114060?

How much do they usually cost and would ADs fit them for you?

Sorry, not familiar with the option Of oysterflex.

Thanks!

Yes it will fit. You would either have to fit it directly (like the RG YM), or buy custom SS end links (smarty links for instance) if you want the Daytona look.

As for sourcing the pieces, the are $270 per side. Finding them is another story since your AD is not supposed to sell them to you unless you have a watch that came with them. It never hurts to ask though.

For some reason, I kind of recall about losing warranty coverage if you change the strap/bracelet, is this the case? Like we are not suppose to change them?

No, you're fine. Even if that were the case, you could just switch it back before taking it in.

I'd rather get an Everest strap to fit a watch with a metal bracelet!!!

They are excellent for warm days, comfortable and no worries about about scratches. But on other days you’ll probably miss the metal bracelet.

I love the OF on my Daytona, one sized I found it very comfortable. Both variants look great.

WG YM is a bit awkward as of MHO. Case too big and thin at the same time. Additionally OF make the watch combo even bigger, due to the fins that enlarge circumference of bracelet.

Just a piece of expensive rubber lol.

I had one and put it on my sub. It was comfortable but nothing special. It’s extremely overpriced. It did look cool and just should be an option to buy directly from Rolex. That price should be 300-400.

If I wanted rubber again I would just get an Everest or Rubber B.

I own both, PM and oysterflex. I would recommend go for PM first and then get oystwrflex later on. I have 126655 and ABSOLUTELY love oysterflex on it, amazing everyday watch.

I have never owned OF and never will as I prefer metal bracelets only.

Depends on the number off watches you own. Steel/Pm/leather bracelet/strap probably first, however the OF def adds something unique to the lineup. The oysterflex feels great and looks awesome. Love my 116519LN on OF. D

Yes it is. If you want leather then order Rolex Part Number B80118 from your AD (in your OF size of EE or EF or whatever) and have them fit it or do it yourself if you are brave and tape up the WG lugs. Personally I pop into my AD and they do it in two minutes.

I now rotate between Rubber for Summer/Casual and Alligator for Winter/Formal.

Question I have is how the straps look after 5 years of regular wear. I assume using something like Lexol vinyl care is ok? I know WristClean sells RubberB care.
