Not sure if it’s everyone’s progression is moving to diamonds on their watch....but I think moving to PM or higher horological pieces, would seem more natural for for most. I actually bought a SARU GMT as part of my progression, but it wasn’t my taste , and I moved it pretty quickly. Diamonds done tastefully on the dial only and MAYBE the bezel only, is as far as I’ll go. The lug, bezel, guards combination, was a bit too much for my taste. Although I love to look at those beautiful watches.

Some of the gem set Rolex IMHO are gaudy. Some are stunning. If I had FU money I’d do it in a heartbeat. The SABR is a favourite of mine. I’m sure there are others that I don’t even know of as I’m not in that world.

Usually, if you're wearing a blinged up watch where I'm from, it means you ride a moped that belongs to someone else and your Mum buys your Air Max 90's for you!

To each his own...my personal tastes usually lean toward the more understated.
