While this isn't a GS, the logic holds true.
Essentially in a a head to head match-up for your dollars... Rolex vs Any Brand (except AP or Patek): Choose Rolex. Rolex vs AP or Patek...requires more considerations. Now, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't buy the Seiko....it just means that it should not be at the direct expense of a Rolex. |

Here's an article on the watch in question if it is helpful:
https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/a-...y-dive-watches Good points btw about not making a rushed decision/slowing down, which I definitely need to listen to generally!, but this is a limited production so I felt the need to act somewhat quickly hence the "urgency". I've already got way too many watches so I think - but can't promise - I'll try to chill out for awhile now. Then I'll probably wind up consolidating down the the keepers. Let's see... |

Seiko SLA037 would be my choice to buy now as it’s a LE ,& I do really like the OP but you can pick one up anytime in the future if you want to . The Seiko will only rise in value ( not that’s it’s all about future value ), I thought of getting a OP a couple of years ago ,but had the chance to buy a Seiko SLA017 at cost price & so glad I did .

Finishing in Grand Seiko is better - that's a fact. But the wearing comfort, the bracelet, the steel used and the mechanism / its life - here Rolex definitely wins.

That Seiko looks great, I have a thing for grey dials, but would only buy if it was Grand Seiko at that price ($6000?).
