My first watch was an OP36 as well; it's a great watch. I wouldn't mind having the first one back, fwiw. Thanks for sharing your photo and enthusiasm!!! Congratulations on a great watch!!!

Thanks everyone! I actually picked it up from Crown and Caliber back in April. I agree that 36mm is the way to go for non sports models, though obviously I may be biased. I love how unassuming it is, until you get a closer look at the details at least.

I think the silver OP checks those boxes since unless you already know what you’re looking at or get up close you’d never know what it is. I suspect this will be the last one for awhile, but hey, you never know.

For those curious, the runs is a hand made Kazak rug from Afghanistan.
Only in America can an Afghani refugee make it and buy a Rolex. God Bless America, and God Bless the American people. I love you all. God Bless capitalism and God Bless America!

Although I appreciate the sentiment I’m a multi generation Canadian of European descent. Just the rug originates from Afghanistan.

Oh. LOL!!! My bad. Sentiments are true about everything else. Bless Christ and bless America! When America falls, all of us Rolex owners will be guillotined. We must be ever ready to flee.

Congratulations on your new watch...the Oyster Perpetual is certainly appropriate for a first...or seventh...Rolex. I am a fan of its utter simplicity.

I have an older version of the silver dial OP. Outstanding watch and quite comfortable. I've always felt the OP is too often overlooked, by casual buyers and aficionados alike.

The 36mm case is the classic size and I like that, too.

Enjoy yours...a great way to celebrate your 25 years of government service.

Fantastic rug, too.

Cheers!
