Again, how many of the opinions on here are from people who have actually owned a Cellini? As best I can see, very few.
I can comment as an owner of the Cellini Moonphase. I agree this lives in a different bucket than a Calatrava or other dress watch. While dressy, due to it being in gold, it is much sportier than the other watches it’s been compared to in this thread. First, it is much thicker, more like a sports watch. To me, this is a positive because my need for a true dress watch is limited. Second, the coin-edge bezel gives it a less dressy look than, say, a Calatrava.

To me, this one is a nice mix of dress and sport. It’s gold, but in a thicker, sportier case, and also built like other Rolex models to be more durable than a true dress watch.

Just my opinion as an owner. Certainly it’s not for everyone and price is relative but to me, it’s completely worth it. Also, I would suggest to anyone who is even passively interested to see it in person before making conclusions. When I saw it and held it is when I fell totally in love with it.

DO NOT pick it up.

If you have to ask us that means you are search for affirmation. So you are not sure enough and you REALLY should not buy anything (let alone shell out thousands of dollars) if you are not over the moon with that item

My father owned a white gold Cellini and my brother got it. Very elegant and thin from late 90’s? He had his Rolex steel for daily wear. Put he did prefer his Patek.

For the MSRP, no. And I don't do dress watches I'm too hard on them. But it's a nice looking watch.

If you need an “expert” to tell you whether you should or should not buy something you love then don’t buy it.

It's not a beach to boardroom reference, so I would have to pass.
