Just a simple insert font change much like the many others over the past 40 plus years.

I'm not certain if this is a design or manufacturing caused effect as the result of the conical shape of the bezel insert. In lithography this would be considered a mag error due to focal plane difference.

There’s something that Rolex did with the new Sub that probably 99.9% of owners don’t know about. It only came to my attention because of an article that I read yesterday titled something like, “things you didn’t know about the new Submariner”.
Check out the photo below and look at the numbers 50 and 10 on the bezel. See how the top of the 5 and top of the 1 are ever so slightly further away from the zero than at the bottom. The difference is very slight, but it’s there.
Someone who noticed this might think it’s a design flaw but in fact was done purposely by Rolex to give the illusion of the numbers curving to coincide with the curve of the bezel.
That’s just incredible attention to detail and just like the mindset of Rolex to do something to trick the eye that in the great majority of instances only they know about.
Very curious. I didn't know that. Thank you very much for the information

If I would have known that I would have kept my big mouth shut.
I guess part of it is just the excitement of new ownership. I’m loving this watch.
