That's the issue.
Traditional sizes have changed dramatically for women's watches.
My mother and grandmother had watches that were around 13mm in diameter.
I currently have in my possession an Omega watch that my mother in law has given to me to have it serviced or what ever I deem fit, which is around 13mm diameter and it was her 21st birthday gift to her from her parents.
In the 80's a woman's watch was still considered to be under 15mm or so.
My mother in law is probably 20 years or so younger than my mum so it shows how enduring/traditional the smallest of sizes were
In effect, we are talking 70 or 80 years of tradition.

Now days a 31-34mm is mostly considered to be the average. If I see a 36 on a well dressed woman I think she's pushing the limits a little.
Most of the bigger watches one sees is an expression or adherence to modern fashion trends. IMO.
Very few can really pull it off.

As much as the watch is great in its own right and likewise so is the woman.

Initially I was struggling to see any watches, but after closer examination i now can make them out.
IMO, the 36 looks great as a daily
The 28-31 may be fine for dressups.
Not so sure about the Sub unless there is proper context. Perhaps a swimsuit shot would suffice, or maybe a wetsuit

My S/O started out with a 31mm DJ, she wore that for several years. Now, she also wears a 37mm YM on oysterflex, and a Tudor BB58 (925). They all look good on her, but it really is personal preference.

My wife loves her 36 and she has a small wrist.
In the end, the same rule applies for men and women: lug to lug shouldn't be larger than the wrist. After that, it's personal preference.

This is a 36 mm that I just bought, and it WAS advertised as the Ladies model. I found that odd, because ladies aren’t usually looking for watches with fixed wire lugs, except for ME, of course….

What do you think of that watch, and how it wears overall? Forgetting that it's marketed as a "ladies" watch it's one I consider from time to time. I'm 6'1, with a 7" wrist, but still prefer 34-36mm watches.

Another interesting observation: I'm seeing an increasing number of watch companies remove gender from names, descriptions and marketing on all but the smallest, most femininely-styled pieces. Rolex is one. Tudor is another. Hamilton as well. I know I've seen it elsewhere, too, just not thinking of where at the moment.

My wife loves wearing my 36mm date just - it’s the TT with diamonds that my father passed down to me and it 30+ years old. Amazing how styles change over time!

Very individual choice of course. My wife likes her Omega Constellation which I believe is 28mm (hope it’ll eventually come back from service…). She liked some of the IWC designs but decided that 36mm is too big for her. She’s petite and doesn’t like anything flashy. Zero interest in anything Rolex on her part.
But a close friend of mine (also rather petite) has a nice collection of watches and recently went for the everrose Day Date and pulls this off naturally. Nobody would ever question her choice :-)
