remember this about fakers (makers). they know as much about a real rolex
as anyone. they just don't care on the fit and finish. i would think that they have a built-in, acceptable loss ratio. i have seen bags of fake rolex's , BAGS! they tell you what they are, no hiding. problem lays when they sell them and the next person starts believing that they can pass them off as real. the greed kicks in. also i have met fakers (makers) that, do it for a game. how good can i make it. no different then a computer hacker, i gifted person thats seeks a challenge. you can't stop them as a whole. you can only offer assistance to ones that are looking. and there lays the stem of the problem, we are always looking for the bargain (a form of greed) trying to catch a deal. i lost my job and need to sell my rolex. (blood in the water) or my grandfather left me this rolex i don't know what it's worth. ( i do and i am not gonna them him, hmmm) seldom does a real bargain on rolex pop-up. something to share. i have talked with the man, as it was told to me that makes the red letter sub dials. he is, as told to me a stong collector of the ultra rare rolex's so lets keep posting those no good fake rolex's........ONLY this might/might not off the subject. i posted this here to share were this maybe going. the don't tell post, i'm sure almost all of them (faker markers)already know never look down on your opponent, they'll beat you if you do again, again and again |

Otoh, it is some of the newest members that are saved by Watch Out. Keeping them from posting would defeat the purpose.

i'll speak about myself. I chose to ONLY POST when something isn't right.
i have very strong opinion on those post that shouldn't be posted in this section. those post are counter productive and hurt a good seller. if you call something a fake, and it isn't a easy spot. you need to call it out imo, to many good watches getting the cramp kicked out of them |

earl, i don't understand your question?? i said, WHEN SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT.
earl, let me try it again. when someone calls something a fake, call it out. and that would INCLUDED a hi-jacked picture. when moscow has a picture taken from him, he calls it out. to those that would like to learn, this will greatly help. posting it and calling it a fake. NO. how do i know that the person posting knows what they are talking about<< or>> trying to knock off there competitor product??? hmmmm |

An honest seller would love what is done here. There are many sellers who sell watches by the hundreds and they are never questioned here. |

who's angry?????? since you brought it up???????
and the answer to your second question>>>NO. i do enjoy the tips i pick-up here if you call it a fake, call it out. what is the problem? if you don't know for sure?! don't call it a fake. i think we have a misunderstanding here??? if it is a fake. say why. is it that hard? are we connecting, you are taking shots. is that the way you operate? if you don't know, don't post. i have never learned a thing while talking........ |

What Blaine is saying is true , I have only been here a relative short time . I may have put in some more time on the Watch Out section lately because my work load at the moment allows this . I must say we have seen a fair amount of listings been called fakes and several were pulled only to have the real experts chime in too late on why the call was wrong . we can say that there are still many more fakes slipping through the net and even the ones we can positively identify and report to Ebay etc. and they do not get pulled , for reasons only Ebay knows but never tells . We could call it collateral damage , but it shouldn't happen . I can imagine you wouldn't be happy that your listing of your real Rolex gets pulled for nothing just when you have serious bids on it and you need the money to pay some important bills . We must admit that because of the crisis we see many " normally honest " people resorting to these practices a lot more then usual .
I condone Ebay for facilitating certain unacceptable practices . They could very easily implement security features to halt the most common fraud when listing watches : Stolen pictures grabbed of the net : Check out chrono24 a European based site : they have a feature whereby when you list a watch 2 randomly generated "time" shows and you have to list the watch with clear pictures set to those times . That will give the potential buyer some indication that the seller actually holds the watch and pictures were not just "borrowed". I condone Ebay for not building that in , cannot see that this would be such a technical difficulty for an thriving enterprise as them. again my 2c for what its worth . |

Well said BASSETHOUNDS. eBay is all about money. I for one will not place a watch in Watch out simply because a seller has low feedback. There are those, myself included that have never sold on eBay. I don't want the hassle. If I have any doubts, I ask the seller for certain things. Then, and only then, if I do not get a response within a certain time do I raise the flag. Some listings though simply scream fraud ! It is those that need to right off go on our board.
