Some Rolex models (Exp) wear smaller. Also, more functional. My wife has a chrono in ladies size where the dials are impossible to read. Others with date functions are too small to read. Another reason is that many more mens watches are mechanical while more womens are quartz.

I think it is a temporary fashion trend
I think it is temporary think in line with Men's desire for larger watches, though I think that the latter fad will last longer.

I think they look good. I know that my wife has tried on some men's models as well as new DJll and she loves the difference. To each his own --or her own!
