It would be sub-c for me just because of the thick case and I think it sort of messes up the classic look by having the bold words on the outer ring.

I can't imagine a better daily-wearer than the Sub-C. The DSSD feels very heavy on my smaller wrist. I could see it bothering me for everyday wear.

That being said, you are saying that this watch won't be your daily-wearer. In that case, there is a much better argument for the DSSD.

Question is very common on here...

If anything really bothers you about a watch why get it? In the long run it's likely that those issues are only going to get worse.

When I first tried on the DSSD I couldn't get used to the thickness....but after a while I seemed to forget about it and picked one up. I had it for a year but in the end the initial issue came back to haunt me and the watch was sold.

When I tried on the SubC LN I had little doubt. Once the watch was on my wrist (and pics do not and cannot do the fit and feel justice) that was it. It is a perfect watch on my wrist...feels great...looks stunning with the maxi dial + ceramic insert.

If you have tried on both..and have any doubts about either...wait. It may be that another rolex, or dare I say other brand, has your name on it.

I will be honest with u. Coming from someone who had both. Albeit i only had the subc for only a week.

The dssd is a superior watch. And im not a huge guy.

If the price were the same. I would say that 90 percent of people would choose dssd.

The first week having the dssd i never took my eyes off it.

It just looks glorious on the wrist. The way things reflect off the domed bezel is amazing. I have had 4-5 modern rolexes. None of them come close to the dssd.

Being a commercial diver by trade, I need a heavy piece, and besides there is something about wearing a heavy watch, one almost feels undressed without it, I went for the original Sea Dweller, I liked the DSSD, the only thing that Rolex have done wrong on it, in my opinion, the strap is to flimzey for the size of the watch. I really hope Rolex decides to beef up that strap, should be thicker and the links attached to the solid ones must take on the same width of the case, making the strap a bid wider all round, then I will definately look at getting one!
