For the ones who have not seen it, I do have a DIY and some thoughts on the strap posted at http://www.minus4plus6.com/rubberb.htm

I have been wearing mine for more than two weeks and it looks good, works well with my existing Rolex clasp, and frankly, dismantling the clasp was not a big deal.. This strap is much different than any other strap that I have used (which I chronicled in my review)...

using the ss clasp on an after market rubber strap makes no sense to me at all. rubber b simply cant justify its price point. "an extra clasp" increases the price? first, it doesnt come with a clasp or buckle option, so its not "extra" and increase the price? imo this is an incomplete product at a high price. you dont get what you pay for here. I would like to see a review from someone who actually buys/pays one of these?

Not for me.

I always liked the Oyster bracelet, no reason for me to replace it by whatever kind of strap.

I have a couple of beater watches with rubber straps, but will always prefer the feel of a SS bracelet.

I personally don't see how 220$ for a strap is justified, especially with no clasp.

It may have curved ends and be good quality rubber. For less than 20$ you can get a rubber strap with a clasp. For me a curved end is not worth 200$ more and the rubber can't be 10 times better. For 220$ you can buy a pair of decent quality tyres.

Omega Rubber is expensive and prob not worth the money, but it is a genuine part that only adds value to the watch. An after market strap is an after market strap.

Give it 6 weeks and someone will be selling a product that looks the same for 30$ on ebay.....

Um, a year and a half to develop them, not make them. And it does NOT take Rolex a year to make a watch.

I generally preferr the sports models on a bracelet with Rolex. Other brands look better with straps, like Panerai and a few others. It's all really just what you like.

Bought one today, the price debate seems somewhat strange considering the price Omega/Hublot/Breitling /others charge for a fitted rubber strap.Perhaps its initial sticker shock for Rolex owners who haven't had a proper fitted , Rolex clasp accepting rubber strap option untill now. In any event I'm looking forward to getting it and putting it on my GMT II.

Ahhh, yes! And there are $30 watches that look like an Omega or a Rolex, so why did you buy genuine? And for the price of a genuine Omega or Rolex, you can buy an entire car, not just "tyres"!!! Wow, what a foolish choice to spend that kind if money on a watch!!!

I am not sure I get your point. As he stated, a genuine Omega rubber strap is overpriced but adds to the perceived value of the watch since it is OEM and not aftermarket. The RubberB (what an awful name, lol) is aftermarket and adds nothing to the perceived value of the watch.

BTW, tyres is the correct spelling in some countries.

Cheapens the watch. One of the reasons why Rolex is Rolex is because the watches look great just the way they are.

Rubber looks great on a Panerai and an Omega Ploprof and Planet Ocean.Rolex should be on the original Rolex bracelet.
