We're all like congressmen towing the party line. :) DeepSea owners will say, "DeepSea hands down, it's the best Rolex ever". Sub C owners will say " Deepsea is too thick, the Sub is the perfect watch." They're both great watches. One is a versatile all around watch, the other is a remarkable piece of engineering.
All I'll say is, I own a Sub C, but I was very interested in the DS too. Circumstances just worked out with me getting a Sub, the right deal came along. I'd be happy with either. I wanted the size of the DS, but once I got the Sub I realized I only thought I wanted the size of the DS. I'm happy I seem to have grown out of my large, chunky hard core diver phase, at least somewhat. I have learned to see lighter and thinner as a virtue, whereas in the past I think I saw it as a drawback. The Sub C does it for me, but if I had to choose between a regular Sub and a DeepSea, I'd pick the DS, I couldn't give up the super precise ceramic bezel, the improved Lume/dial, the glidelock, and I do feel the Sub C is the minimum size for me, older Subs seem a hair too small, despite the case measurements being nearly identical. |
