Whilst I love vintage, for my needs, modern actually makes a little more sense. Here's my 'little collection':



The one on top was actually used in the Clint Eastwood movie 'The Eiger Sanction' - I have some provenance (on-set photos of him using the rope and a letter from the 2nd AD swearing that it's genuine); do you guys think that might affect the value? How much could I get for something like this?

Eastwood-associated items vary greatly depending on which creative period on his life was involved. Witness the recent rise, then drop in the value of Eastwood-associated wooden chairs. I still think getting a qualified restoration center involved makes the most sense, fibers get damaged and core-cohesion may be affected by careless handling designed more to enhance function than to preserve the vintage character of the piece.
