Wanted to like the Daytona, underwhelmed when finally tried it on. The Deepsea was instant love and replaced my Sub-C LN

I've been thinking about the same thing. It's a really tough choice for all the same reasons. I'm thinking I may need to buy both, but not sure on what order and how to justify that kind of money spending.

DSSD is great watch but looks like you've got your bases pretty well covered in "tool dive watch" category.....I'd say go with Daytona to add a little sporty elegance to your collection + you say you've always wanted one???.....Daytona is the one I would go with......my $.02

The ss Dayt does wear small for a modern mens chrono. The DSSD becasue of the smaller dial due to the inner ring doesnt wear large on the wrist, like a 43mm, but its the thickness and top heavyness on thin bracelet that you have to come to terms with.

As for will large watches stay with us? I think yes as the market is driven by new money from the East, and as new money always does, will want to display their wealth.

The Deep Sea is the best every day watch ever made IMO.

Deep Sea all day.

That's my experience as well. Perhaps at initial glance it may have felt small, but after you wear it a bit the size definitely does seem to change and it's a perfect fit.

Easy. Daytona.

You want a bigger watch? Look at Panerai, AP, etc.

Opinions seem about even, as of course tastes vary. I like the size and heft of the DSSD, and like some others, was underwhelmed by the look of the Daytona when I tried one on. That said, if the Daytona is what you've been wanting, go for it. Don't grab something else because others like it (i.e., it's trendy). Good luck with your decision.

Really nice classic look about it! Will the oversized trend continue? What do you guys think? Thanks,
Both are great watches that appeal to different people for different reasons.

In your case though, are you really deliberating over one which you feel satisfies a "trend" against one which you feel has a "really nice classic look" and that you "have always wanted" ??????

If so, I think the answer is spelled out.

Good luck whichever way you go.

The Daytona is a beautiful watch but it wears too small for me. I yearned for one all of my life, but sold mine after less than a year. Depending on your frame you may get away with wearing a Daytona. But let me just say, if you are trying it on and it feels too small now, that feeling will continue to gnaw at you after you buy it.
