I agree -- WTF?

If she told you to get it, she shouldn't harp on you about it now.

My husband and I both work crazy hard, and are blessed that we both do well. He has an account, I have an account, and there is a joint account we both put money in for household/joint expenses and savings. Anything we make individually over and above our obligations to the joint account, we do what we want with. I buy expensive shoes, he plays golf, and neither of us cares.

I bought myslef a Lady DJ with Jubillee bracelet and silver diamond dial on February 8th, while he was out of town. I showed it to him when he returned home a few days later, and he wrote me a check from his account to cover it because he said he wanted to give it to me for Valentine's day.

His birthday is in April, and I plan on dragging him to the AD on under the guise that I need something on mine checked. When I get there, I am going to have him try some on, and when I can tell which one he likes, I am going to buy it for him.

Perfect solution.

I had the same prob at first. I explained to my wife, I spent the 5 g's on a rolex, but she spends money all the time shoping. It is an even x-change. I also had to remind her that I make 40,000 a year more than she does, and I do the cooking.

You know your important when the meeting doesn't start until you arrive.

Tonight when the watch went on my wrist she kissed me and said "you deserve it honey, I am sorry for last night and you would give me the world if I asked". So all is well and I am now reading my manuals and enjoying this day:) Best....Mark

Good on ya Mark! Now make sure you take it off before you go to bed, you don't want to scratch her with the watch and start this thing again. :

I have offered to buy her one and she don't want it. We only go around once and my "once" will be a good one.

It's OK I pay about 5k in bills per month but buy a watch and then being made to feel guilty is a kick in the ass. Where is judge Wapner?
You should have stayed single. Today, there is NO benefit for a man to be married and more downfalls than I can list in this posting. Notice how the media generated propaganda spread the word that women should stay single but that men are useless without a mate. What BS double-standard is this?

People will point out to a single man that if he doesn't get married, he'll die alone. Well with divorce at an all time high of 60% and 70% of them initiated by women, speaking as a single man I will have good company.

I bought a Sub and was going to buy my wife a DJ but she said she'd rather have a new camera. So... she got the camera and I had her put it to good use.!

With regards to your government stat, they excluded all divorced men and women as "singles" from their findings so the stats are cooked!

Today, your odds of becoming single again are alot better than staying married "till death do us part".

So as this stat is true, you're still in the same boat as any living single.

Actually, I haven't noticed the media cultivating the notion that women should stay single. True, marriage isn't for everybody, and congratulations for identifying yourself as the kind of person who is better off single for life. However, it's a stretch to say there is NO benefit for a man to be married. Can you qualify that?

Methinks Kathryn Hepburn may have been right. She said men and women were not meant to live together. They were meant to get together now and then to visit.

LOL!

Lisa you don't seem to have a taker as far as the substantive question of "quantify the benefit of not being married" I think it's because you called a male on the fact that he's better off WITH a woman rather then without. Tough to prove but I bet the man in question has the scars to be apprehensive? One way or the other. LOL and it depends on the woman, god bless her

I've got a keeper myself. I'm a lucky lucky man! =-) Actually, I bought her a rolex first since she was always admiring her sisters--she definitely deserved it. Once she had one, I got more into it and ended up buying my first one last month. Please thy wife first, then yourself. Has worked well for me! Congrats on your purchase and wear it proud!

You always gotta wonder - whether it be a bitter man or a bitter woman - what's in their history.

When it comes to divorce type disputs between men and women it can be said that; "there is her side, there is his side, and then there is the truth".
