I have the 114060 and let me tell you that it is stunning....i also had thought of trading it in for an sdc4000. The 114060 has a wider look fits and personally fits my wrist better and most importantly is about 3500$ cheaper. The sdc4000 is a great looking peice but please dont get both...go for a blnr or something a little more different.

I'm thinking of selling my SUBC Date for a BLNR. Good point above. Current line up is - SDC / SUBC Date / SUBC / and Polar Exp. II 42mm. I think the BLNR is next - I will probably flip one. (SUBC Date)

I think I would go SD b/c of the date feature. I wouldn't go both, unless I was going to have a really expansive collection.

As someone who has traded in a 114060 for a new SD, I think that's not the only question to ask yourself. Yes, the date feature is there, but there's also a difference in design and look on wrist that is often not noticed until you've had wrist time with each one. In photos there's not a lot of difference between the two (SD-C and Sub-C), but once you've worn them both for a while, you (or at least I did) notice that the SD-C seems as if it's case and bracelet were designed as whole, with the way the lugs help to make the case flow much more smoothly into the bracelet. Whereas the sub-c's maxi case and its wider look seems (to me) as if it's flow into the bracelet was a design afterthought. The SD-c seems to give a more refined and "classic" look that I like much more than that of the maxi cased Subs. At least that's my opinion of it. So in my eyes, the price difference was worth it and then some. |

Since you had both, can i ask what is lug to lug distance of SDc? I know that Sub C is 47 mm, so is SDc smaller? Thank you |

SD is bad a$$, it is thicker and has a tiny date.
Sub is everything else. |

I have a 16610 Sub. and looked at the new SD. but bought the Tudor Pelagos.
And I'm happy with that decision. |

are you talking about the signature quote i was using for a while?
"Nobody go there anymore its too crowded" that is fondly known as a Yogism yogism (pronounced yogi-ism) A malapropism (see Webster's Dictionary) stating truth in a humorous manner, attributed to famous New York Yankee catcher, Yogi Berra. |

The 114060 is almost too bulky for me; I can't imagine wearing something heftier as a daily watch.

sub is just the simplest and purest example, it is perfect imho. the sea dweller as i said is bad a$$ (and that is good:) it adds some features, if they are meaningful to the owner is the question? features as the thickness and date without magnification may or may not be desired depending on the intended use. |

114060 and SD4000
Here's both side by side.. They do wear differently. Try them on and have a look. For me I would choose one and not both.
To me the subC wears flatter and disappears but looks flat and square. The sd4k is heavier and wears taller but looks thinner. |

Get the DSSD over the SD4000......The DSSD makes the SD400 look like his "little buddy"....the SD4000 wears so small its ridiculous

If you need the date, I like the sd better. If you don't, the sub is my favorite.
