Steel wool will remove gold. Anytime a surface is brushed or polished some material is lost.

No way! I originally thought of doing it to my BLNR but I LOVE the PCLs on the new GMTs. It can be done and reversed if you make the decision and aren't happy.

There's a big difference between polishing and refinishing with the intention to remove dings/dents.

I say do it. PCLs on a sport watch don't make sense to me.

That's why I recently bought a Maserati and asked the dealer to make it look a little more like a smart car........

Polished finish was meant for gold. When I think stainless steel I think brushed which is why I'm not a huge fan of the PCLs on stainless.

That's a terrible anology. Maybe, just maybe, some people might like the feel of gold but also want to fly under the radar a bit. This may shock you, but not everyone wants their watch to scream "Look at me, I'm wearing a gold watch!"
