I am not as I am very happy with my 116520.
In the future, who knows what will happen.

Just posted my incoming of the Daytona C, and this was one point that I pondered. Here is what I said on the other thread:
"I thought about selling my 116520 after this one, but they somehow feel quite different, as if the 116520 was a lot more formal, dressy, elegant, while the 500 feels like a purebreed full fledged sports watch." I feel there's plenty of room for both in a collection. |

Interesting thread, I have a black and white 520 and only wear the black. I love the watch and I'm not a fan of the ceramic. To me it looks like an omega wanna be. now I know I will take heat for that statement but it is my opinion. Actually I was given the opportunity to buy the blk 500 awhile back but did not take it hoping it would go to someone who really wanted it and not a flipper.

from what I'm reading here, most of the guys on here doesn't really like the C. Any particular reason? I personally like it because i like it clean and shiny.

That is why I am curious if there is a big enough difference for current owners to add the 500 or replace the 520 with a 500. I know the lume of the 116520 is/was relatively weak. Did Rolex improve the lume of the 500? It could be that my 116520 is from the late 2000s and the lume has started to wear out over time. |

No. I prefer the more elegant 116520/black face. I considered the new ceramic bezel'd ones, but ultimately decided to pass. Too sporty (I have plenty of sport/dive watches already), look too much like lots else out there. Before you all criticize me for passing on the "best Daytona evah!" consider that my decision shortened the queue by one.

Current owner of the 520 and will not be adding the 500 due to the premium and also due to subtle differences such as the bezel.

My feelings exactly! Having said that, I've been considering flipping my 116520 and a bit of cash for a 16710 and a 214270. I'd get the Pepsi that I've been thirsting for as well as a "more formal , dressy, elegant" look that I believe the Explorer would have with its simplistic styling.

I am new here, and recently ordered the white dial ceramic Daytona. I recognize the 116520 on the right, but which one is the one in the middle. From the reaction of subsequent posters, I know it's a rare/sought after/vintage one, but am not *yet* up to speed on which Daytonas I should last after once I get mine.

Yep. Have a black stainless, just added the white ceramic. Perfect mix IMO.
