Go for it if the price difference is small as you say, i think the white gold with it,s sunray dial, larger case and better crown guard is at a totally different level, even if it was ss and not gold.

Tough choice for me... I have yet to see a 500 in person in either color. In the non ceramic I would choose PM>TT>SS (I know I'm in the minority). In this case I would probably take the SS just for the bracelet.

I'm thinking about it. Just waiting to see how the WG looks and feels. If I like it, the 500 is gone.

I like the larger case on the WG, but prefer bracelet over rubber on a Daytona

If that dial were on a bracelet one day, sure. Or go now for the WG blue dial.
Personally, if I had a black DaytonaC, I'd just stick with it. And maybe even stop hunting for the next one! ;-) |

WG for sure.
To me its the Oysterflex that makes the watch, that and how it looks with the dial. I was never a fan of Daytona until this, so for me its a no brainer. I would not buy it on a bracelet even if offered. Black strap, black bezel, black subdials.... its works so well together. Take away the strap and you lose something IMHO. For sure, its a much tougher sell to existing Daytona fans although many still like it too. So if you loved the SS daytona, opinions will be mixed. If you didn't like the SS daytona this is the one. |

slightly... but it is noticeable.
Look at the 400 mark on the bezel and follow it out to the case edge. The WG has noticeable case material continuing from where the bezel stops the SS does not. |

For me it is either WG Oysterflex or no Daytona. Not really considering the SS as not really bothered about waiting for 2 years to get one and certainly not paying above RRP!
I'll be trying the WG on in a couple of weeks so will know then if it is as good as it looks in the pics. If not, it might be time to pick up the BLRO?!?! |

WG or any other PM without hesitation. Option of leather or Oysterflex seals the deal

I'd do it having both tried the WG yesterday and having owned the RG daytona C. I prefer the slightly larger case and crown guards. The dial on the WG is stunning if not the easiest to read.
Its an easy swap from OF to leather or other rubber straps if you fancied a change - lots of options

If the WG was on a bracelet then it would be a consideration. I would be more inclined to look at the WG with the blue dial and bracelet.

Well we've been saying that since the first RG in 2011/12 so not holding my breath, Rolex seem very reluctant to put a gold ceramic Daytona on a bracelet.

As some said SS is "smart money" but the WG subdials are to die for...

I love that WG. Even so, it depends on how you dress. If you normally dress in a suit then the bracelet is a must. If you are a casual dresser, or it is a weekend watch, then the WG would be my pick.

Keep the SS and add the WG at some point, I wouldn't trade it.
