95% of this forum doesn't have a 3 year or less old watch, (i.should've stayed vintage, and kept it privately maintained) and 99.9% haven't had any recent service thru RSC..

I always thought a "movement service" was a service of the movement. That is what they said when I sent my Sub in with a problem under warranty.
They serviced the movement and evidently fixed the problem. That's all i care about. |

They'll list all parts replaced. . Service is just dismantel, clean, inspect, oil, reassemble .. according to my conversations with RSC.. any and all parts replaced will be listed

Whilst I don't class myself as a watch oil guru. If this is a problem would it not be solved as and when an independent watch maker used some of the older oil on the watch.
I haven't got a vintage watch but I have seen plenty of threads from owners saying their watch hasn't been serviced and is still running fine after 15-20 years. Obviously their oil didn't dry up. I might be looking at it in a to simplistic way and I realise that it's no consolation to people and I include myself in this with modern rolex pieces as and when they grind to a halt |

Unfortunately I believe due to the chemical breakdown, along with the paths that need be created for it. . I don't think you can switch to other more traditional oils. . The watch was designed to run on this stuff.. good planning by Rolex to get more of our money
That being said, I agree older watch and independent servicing may be the best Just looking at the thread polling on how many people he used rolex warranty, it's showing roughly 40% have. And I'd venture a guess that the number is growing with the newer watches
