I would probably get a Speedy for him. Cool watch, plus a very impressive box. It would make a wonderful gift.

I have and love Tudor. But if he isn’t a watch guy he might not recognize the value or quality a Tudor represents.

Yeah. It's a classic that will go with almost anything, and it's probably the best you will find in your price range. I've got a new GMT and a SubC, and yet I'm constantly tempted to get an Explorer. There really are so many amazing things about it - one of the main ones being that it flies under the radar a bit compared to the other sports models.
