Personally I could never wear Yellow or rose. It would have to be WG because of the stealth wealth look. I can admire yellow gold watches on others. It is just that I personally feel it attracts too much attention wean wearing one.

Some may consider it too flashy but I like yellow gold. I feel like when you're spending the kind of money that it takes to own a precious metal piece then it shouldn't fly under the radar but rather have some flash.

the debate over wg vs. yg has been raging for years, and may not be resolved in our lifetimes.
that said, i have worn ss for years and recently purchased my first yellow gold watch. my
only regret is that i didn't do it sooner. bottom line; buy what makes you happy.

OK. My take on it is

YG makes a statement to both average citizens AND also WIS, (you know TRF types)

WG only makes a statement to those who know...

Yellow for me. White gold can always be mistaken with Steel and if I paid that much money I definitely would want people to see that it is Gold

I am lucky to have all four: YG, RG, WG & PT. I can honestly say YG & RG definitely get more noticed and I do like my WG & PT watches because they do fly under the radar. Depending on who I’m meeting and in what setting, I will pick the watch I’m wearing accordingly.

WG, I'm still in my 20s and yellow gold is something my grandpas wore. I like my watches completed my look, not being the first thing that pops out.

If you're 50+, no one is going to bat an eye at your yellow gold Rolex but when you're a guy my age it certainly grabs attention. It's the kind of attention I don't want. I have already had people asking if my Sub is a Rolex. I'd be delighted if someone said nice Sub, instead of just pointing out the brand.

I went with white gold exactly because it looks like steel to the casual observer.

Dont like entire yellow gold watches. I have a Daytona Zenith two tone and thats my limit. Bought new in the 90s, I wish i’d bought ss, but back then bling was king...

It's all personal choice, and what you are looking to achieve with your watch. I myself love white gold for its stealth aspects. I own gold watches but rarely wear them.

Depends on the watch I think. For a DayDate, I think it looks better in yellow gold. For a sport model, I think WG/plat looks good (smurf, platona).

But if I were to get one, I’d go YG since I don’t have any PM. If I had a few PM pieces WG would make sense.

Agree with the above depending on the watch. Never a gold fan till I saw a sunburst blue all yellow gold sub. Rose gold no way, until I saw day date President with green dial. Rolex does make a great line up so you can mix it up with some unbelievable watches.
