I love silver dials, I think they look super cool. Yes they're not the most legible ones but I don't mind. To me nothing can rival their beauty

I agree! They might not be the first watch but I think past 3 (or maybe 4), it’s cool for a collection to have a silver dial, especially as a dress watch!

I love silver with a little contrast, whether it be hands or sub dials. When its a simple 3 hander
with silver dial/case color it looks a bit too monotone. Love blued hands on silver

All my favorite watches have black dials. I like the contrast.

There's plenty of love for silver dials, but most of the buzz these days surrounds watches that happen to not come in silver. Rolex makes beautiful dials and the silver family.

I have 7.5inch wrists and wear a silver dial 36mm dj smooth bezel and oyster bracelet.

I love it . Sometimes in low light it’s a bit tricky to ready but it’s all good

You must love the tone on tone aesthetic of these amazing watches. I do. But it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, to be sure.

I agree and wondering if it's hard to read in low light? I really don't care just curious

My first Rolex was a DJ41 SS with silver dial. I like it a lot, in daylight it is very legible to me.

I'm a fan! I usually prefer darker dials but silver, steel in this case, is an exception. The new white OP 34/36/39 are also very nice.

In terms of legibility, the hands either reflect the light or they actually look darker than they are (somewhat like black chrome) depending on lighting conditions (like the first pic in post #5 above). No issue with legibility for me and my eyes suck.
That is true. I have a silver dial DJ I inherited from my dad, who used it until age 98 with one eye, so I can't complain.

yah..anyone who claims a silver dial is illegible must be partially blind - in both eyes.

I'm not a fan of silver dials, they are bland in my opinion.
There are some exceptions though.

When I added a DJ it was between white and silver. I ended up going with a white DJII and figure I could always switch dials to silver come service time. I think a WG silver dial DD40 would look great.

Love silver dials, spent a couple of months trying the find the silver dial Day-Date I wanted.

Finally found this Rolex Day-Date 18238, A serial (1999), silver dial, sticks, with great lume.
