AD scratched bracelet during sizing, what would you do?

I don't see why a tool like that was even needed, or why they apparently adjusted it by pulling on the inside. I adjust springbars on watches by pushing each end from the outside with a sharpened bamboo skewer or chopstick. This is easily strong enough to push the end of the springbar in, but if it slips it's not hard enough to scratch the metal.
